Bialy

Bialy is composed of equal parts activity and purr, not unexpected for a cat who’s just about 5 months old (as of 12/21/10). He’s an all-black male who never ceases to amaze us with his incredible energy level; he loves to play! He’s also an affectionate boy, who appreciates attention from people.

Bialy is one of our Special Needs felines. He was born with hydrocephalus (sometimes called “water on the brain”). He has what looks like a bump on his forehead because of this, and he walks as though he had had too much to drink. However, he can climb and jump and loves to do both. Right now, Bialy is on two oral medications (a steroid and a diuretic), which seem to be helping his wobbliness. He will need to be on both for the foreseeable future, but we do not know if he’ll need to be on them for the rest of his life. Note that it is possible that he will need more invasive treatment (surgery) for his hydrocephalus in the future, but we have no way of knowing that for certain; it’s only a possibility.

Bialy gets along well with other cats (as long as they’ll play with him!) and likes people. He’ll need to be more closely monitored than most other kitties, and he MUST be an indoor-only cat. We understand that Bialy won’t fit into every household, but we believe there’s someone with a big heart out there who can love our sweet boy just the way he is. Could it be you?
