Limited vision

2020 was a year of change for our Pearl!

Pearl was trapped at an outdoor cat colony during a Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) project. Once she was trapped, her rescuers immediately noticed the cloudiness in her eyes and knew that it would be best to find a safe, indoor home for her, as the outdoors is no place for a cat like Pearl. Luckily, we were able to welcome her into our sanctuary and get a better look at her eyes. We aren’t sure exactly what caused her eyes to become cloudy (previous infection or injury, most likely), but she is healthy now and has adapted to living with limited vision. She can still see and has no trouble navigating her room, but she can be easily startled by sudden movements.

Pearl is just beginning to warm up to people. After a life outdoors, she is wary of people and needs some socialization. She may never be a cuddly lap cat, but she has shown us that she can accept our presence – and all the treats and catnip we bring! While her face may look like it’s scrunched up in a permanent scowl, she can be quite silly and will roll around and play like a kitten when she’s gets a bit of some good ole’ catnip!

This special girl needs an equally special home that understands her past and her need for a quiet home. Could you be the one for Pearl? Consider filling out an online adoption application today!
