paraparesis

Dani is young, playful, and one of the sweetest cats you will meet. She is cautious in new environments, but warms up very quickly. She doesn’t mind other cats as long as they are not too nosy. Her ideal would be to have a human person of her very own who will shower her with his or her undivided attention.

When Dani was just a few months old, she was brought to a veterinary hospital because she could not stand on her hind end. No one knows what happened to baby Dani, but the vet team recognized her desire to persevere and overcome her challenges. After about four months of therapy, she was standing and walking on her own. She made her way to another rescue organization before finding sanctuary at Tabby’s Place. Dani’s condition is known as paraparesis, meaning she has partial loss of motor and nerve function in her back end. You might think that with her mobility limitations Dani would be a ground dweller, but that is not the case. We know that she can climb multiple levels of cat trees and enjoys napping on beds and chairs.

Paraparesis is a special need that requires a special someone to provide the necessary care. Dani doesn’t know that she is any different than any other feline, and wants nothing more than to curl up in the lap or bed of a loving human. Could your lap or bed be the one for Dani to call home?
