You need only watch Scoots for an instant to understand how she got her name. At a mere three weeks of age, Scoots was attacked by a dog. She was rescued by a veterinarian who nursed her back to health, but Scoots remains paralyzed in her hind end.

But partial paralysis does not slow Scoots down or dampen her energy. Scoots is petite in size, but grand in spirit. She is wisely cautious of the unknown, yet intensely curious. Her small squeaks of greeting belie her projecting purrs, which begin with the slightest touch or gentle words from a familiar voice. And if by chance that isn’t enough, Scoots has endearing “Bambi” eyes that are sure to capture your heart.

Watching Scoots chase a toy, you might think she cruises on wheels. She even “spins out” when making tight turns. Her front legs scamper, and her back end follows. She is particularly fond of small poof balls that she can launch and pursue at lightning speed. Ribbons are wonderful prey as they can be easily carried off. Scoots can’t jump to capture a dangling wand toy, but she will roll with delight in an attempt to capture what you dangle near her.

When playtime is over, Scoots loves to curl up in a warm lap or beside a warm body. As a kitty with special needs, Scoots is looking for that very special family that can provide the care that she needs to remain strong and healthy. Perhaps Scoots is seeking your warm lap to snuggle in at the end of a long morning or evening of interactive play.
