Paraplegic

Close your eyes and think about the month of June. What comes to mind? The joyous beginning of summer. Sunny days and cool nights. Fireflies and cookouts. Now transplant those warm, fuzzy feelings into a feline and you’ll have our June.

Although this love bug looks like she was carved perfectly from ebony, June has a tragic backstory. When she was just a stray young mama at only eight months old, she was hit by a car in front of a high school. Poor June was left paraplegic, but a kind teacher witnessed the accident and rescued her.  After being transferred between several rescues and fosters, June eventually made her way to Tabby’s Place.

As far as we know, June was never handled by humans before her accident. This could be why she seems a bit shy when she first meets you. Nevertheless, June quickly warms up to people, and she adores other cats. June has adapted well to her circumstances. She scoots quickly around the Community Room and climbs to the tops of cat trees like an Olympian. She often surprises visitors and volunteers by peeking her head out of cubbies up top and loves to curl up underneath the blankets, leaving just the tip of her tail exposed.

We know it will take a special person to adopt June, but you can still help with her care by making a donation or sponsoring this sweet kitty. Come visit June during our public hours. Please see our Visit Us page for updated information.
