Think of the most laid-back individual you know. Very little upsets this person; he or she appears to be able to get along with just about everyone. If you can imagine this person as a feline, that’s what Newman is like. He doesn’t have an ounce of hostility or aggression in him; he gets along equally well with cats and people. He’s a truly friendly boy, who just wants some attention from anyone who enters his suite.

Unlike many of our other FIV+ males, Newman is not huge. He’s a medium-sized boy, black and white, with black primarily on his tail, back, and head. He has a white tummy, white legs (with a black patch or two), and a small white tip to his tail.

We estimate that Newman was born in June of 2008. He hasn’t been in his suite long, but his mellow personality has already won him plenty of fans. If there’s room in your heart and home for a Special Needs cat, consider this very special guy.

Newman is FIV+, so he’s one of our Special Needs crew. We’ve also recently discovered that he has some elevated liver values. We are in the process of doing further testing to determine the reason for this and will post more updates as get them.

Update:(5/28/13) Newman has a liver shunt, but he is asymptomatic and he requires no medication. He should just be monitored.
