Albert Schweitzer’s prayer for animals

Queen appreciates all the prayers she can get.Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) was a French-German theologian, physician, philosopher and musician – and, in my opinion, a uniquely loving human being. One of our volunteers was kind enough to share the following with me, and I was deeply moved by Schweitzer’s words https://slotsonlinecanada.ca/. I hope you are, too.

A Prayer for Animals

Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends, the animals,
especially for animals who are suffering:
for any that are hunted or lost of deserted
or frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put to death.
We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them
we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves, to be true friends  to animals
and so to share the blessings of the merciful.

– Albert Schweitzer

Little Jacob, whose company is one of the "blessings of the merciful".

  1. 1) My pleasure, Mishale!
    2) I must see this Albert Schweitzer dance!
    3) Karen, I couldn’t agree more!
    4) Just came upon this quote, completely serendipitously, today:

    “There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats.” – Albert Schweitzer
