In Memory: Anastasia

Little AnnieSome goodbyes are particularly wrenching. Few rival the ache of losing our tiny tabby, Anastasia.

No one adored Ana more deeply and faithfully than Sharon (Jonathan’s wife, our Volunteer Coordinator). Sharon always cherished Ana and always advocated for her, and Ana’s  entire countenance would brighten whenever Sharon entered the room. I know how painful this must have been to write, but I also know blessed Anastasia would be to hear Sharon’s loving words.

In Memory: Erin

Beloved ErinFor every cat adorer, there’s that one cat who started it all. This December we had to say a gut-wrenching goodbye to one of the great ones. There are no words for how much I miss this little pixie of a cat, and I am far from alone. As Erin was the cat who started his Tabby’s Place journey, huge-hearted Tabby’s Place volunteer Larry was the perfect one to pen her tribute.

In memory of Albert

Sweet AlbertEvery so often a profound bond grows between a person and a Tabby’s Place cat. Volunteer Joyce and gentle Albert were the epitome of such a bond. As his Special Needs correspondent and his cherished friend, Joyce was a sweet constant in Albert’s life. Albert left this world last week. We thought it only right that Joyce should pen his tribute here.

In memory: Nickey

Beautiful NickeyTwenty years is a long life for a feline.

But that doesn’t mean that twenty years feels like enough, or that “goodbye” at the end of twenty years feels anything like okay. So it is with sorrow and surprise that we bid farewell to one of Tabby’s Place’s beloved elder statescats, the extraordinary Nickey.
