Gratuitous cat photo of the day: Andora

by Angela

Pop quiz! True or false…
1) There’s a teenyweeny little country between Spain and France, of which many folks have never heard.
2) There’s a teenyweeny little pastel tortie in Suite C, whose forever human hasn’t found her yet.
3) #1 and #2 have something major in common, besides teenyweenitude and being a well-kept secret.

If you guessed true-true-true, give yourself a gold star. Our Andora, like Andorra, is a little jewel worth finding - yet one not as widely-known as she deserves.

101229-andora-2As you can see, Andora’s not lacking in loveliness. Neither does she scrimp on the spirit: our gentle girl is as loving as she is ladylike.

One of the last few Transylvanians awaiting her forever home, Andora is the type of sweetheart who typically takes the fast track to adoption. In fact, if I were a gamblin’ woman, I’d wager that our personality-plus pastel might find her family before this year is out.

But, for now, I’ll skip the gambling and stick with the gazing, adoringly, at sweet Andora.

Gratuitous cat photo of the day: Peachy

by Angela

As readers of Felis Catus well know, the Peachable One is a very dignified cat.

Accordingly, this is a very dignified post.

Gratuitous cat photo of the day: her name was Lola

by Angela

That other LolaOr, to be more precise, her name was Lily. Her name is now Lola.

And, no, she didn’t have a torrid love affair with Tony, and Barry didn’t write a song about it. Not that you wouldn’t have ample material for an entire rock opera about Lola.

Rocking hard with Pantera

by Angela

The other PanteraBelieve it or not, we have a cat named Pantera.

Believe it or not, I actually know who Pantera is. And, yes, I knew of the thrash metal band even before I knew about the cat. (Do I like the band? Do I dance daily in the Community Room and headbang to their tuneful sounds? Only Webster knows.)

Gratuitous cat photos of the day: Three wise guys

by Angela

In the bleak midwinter, we all need a burst of light. Brightness. Glorious gleaming orange…marmalade, even.

Add a little brown tabby, and you’ve got yourself a scene right out of a feline creche…three magi wise guys:

We three scaredy-cats of Ringoes are...Miyagi, Dobro & Pikachu

How about a Christmas miracle while we’re at it? No, your eyes do not deceive you (nor does Photoshop): here be Dobro, looking…sweet. Friendly. Christmasy, even.

Feliz Dobro???

Feliz Dobro???

Special thanks to regular Felis Catus family member Nikki for taking these photos. I thank Nikki, also, for dropping increasingly heavy hints on my head until I was buried in a pile of them and needed the jaws of life to get out patiently suggesting that I show the softer side of Dobro.

Our fiery marmalade fella needs devoted, see-the-good-in-him-even-when-it’s-hiding friends like you, Nik.

And when he’s got me in the crosshairs of that steely Dobro gaze, I need a prayer. Or at least the mercy of three wise guys. ;-)
