We’re bearing down on Election Day, and people are getting passionate about all sorts of things: tea parties, coffee klatsches, increased rights for giant mole rats, bans on vegan cheese.
But, even in these acrimonious times, I know we can all agree on one thing: no cat, and I mean no cat, is a bimbo. (Not even if she’s wearing a pink wig. Speaking of things we can all agree should be banned…)
So it’s only right that a certain adoptive Wonder-Mama made it her first order of business to rescue her new baby from a lifetime of bearing a bimbo name.
Personally, it hadn’t occurred to me to connect the name “Starlet” with the image of a bimbo. But once Wonder-Mama Carole (WMC) mentioned it, I could see what she meant - and I could definitely see why that name had to go. Starlet is a snuggler, a sweetheart and a phenomenon…but not a bimbo. Come to think of it, she’s not even an actress. In the best feline style, she puts on no pretense, ever - Starlet always just is what she is, a totally un-self-conscious, cuddle-crazed bundle of dainty tuxitude. No airs or acting here, and no worries about giving off the “right” vibe - she’s 100% sincerity, take her or leave her (as if you could leave her).
How fitting that the little tuxedo who had lost so much would lose her “wrong” name the day she found her so-right family. You’ve met Starlet here before, but today I introduce you to her as the un-bimboid, happily-adopted…Caitlin.
But don’t just take it from me. I’ll let WMC - and big sis Rumor - do the happy talkin’:
“I wanted to let you know that Caitlin and Rumor are getting along beautifully.
As soon as I let her out of the carrying case, Caitlin climbed into my lap, starting purring and happily rubbing her face against my face. When she discovered there was food nearby, she would run over to the dish, eat a little and then run back over to me, purring all the time. She also spent time making happy biscuits on my legs.
Caitlin was in her own room about 2 hours before Rumor even woke up from her afternoon nap. Rumor finally walked passed Caitlin’s room and realized that there was someone new in the house. They spent several minutes sniffing noses to get acquainted.
After a couple of hours I decided to see what would happen if I let Caitlin out of her room. Caitlin spent time exploring the house, and Rumor followed her. They are getting along so well that Caitlin is no longer quarantined in her own room. This morning Rumor happily ran over to Caitlin to greet her when Caitlin walked into the room. They are even eating out of each other’s bowls.
At night I have been happily nestled between 2 purring cats. Several times during the night, Caitlin has reached up to gently touch my face with one of her front paws. Then she will get up to give me a special head bump. I like to think that she is thanking me for giving her a home and her very own special sister, Rumor.
Caitlin spent a good deal of the time this weekend following me around the house. This morning she even followed me into the kitchen and sat at the top of the steps to watch me leave for work, the same way Sammy did. Maybe she is channeling Sammy.
Rumor and Caitlin send everyone at Tabby’s Place their love and many happy biscuits.”

Rumor (front) with her forever-loved brother Sammy. He will always be cherished, even as she welcomes new sis Caitlin.
You see, Caitlin’s not the only member of this family who’s lost a loved one lately. Wonder-Mama herself lost a true love, tuxedo Sammy, just about one month ago. We cat-besotted beans know the hurt never wholly heals…but a tuxedo non-bimbo can help.
Especially two, who seem to know they are soul sisters.
WMC promises me there will be happy Caitlin/Rumor pics (maybe even of those aforementioned happy biscuits?) in the days to come.
Caitlin, you sparkling star, we await your next release with bated breath. And, WMC, we salute your never-ending awesomeness. Thank you for being the Home Sweet Forever Home that two tuxedo sisters always dreamed of.

this was a match made in heaven! (P.S. — just love the pink wig…:))
This is great news all the best to WMC and Caitlin along with the rest of WMC’s felines. I believe that Angela said Starlet/Caitlin wouldn’t be there for long and she sure was right. It was really unfortunate circumstances that lead to her return to Tabby’s Place but the outcome couldn’t have turned out better. Once again this wouldn’t have been possible if it wasen’t for Jonathan’s once a Tabby’s Place cat always a Tabby’s Place cat policy.
Aw, how wonderful! I wanted The Sweet Kitty Formerly Known As Starlet to get a second perfect forever home so badly, and now she has it! Plus it sounds like Rumor was really missing her best friend Sammy, and now she has a new best friend! Yay all around!
what a sweet story
YAYYYY!!!! Always a sucker for a happy ending. God bless WMC and her sweet tuxedo babies!
