The early results are in from the Jersey Boys‘ race out the door, and we have a winner.
It’s not Barry. It’s not Bowie. It’s Really, Really Ralph - and he’s sharing the victor’s spoils with a certain smooshy friend.
In the realm of human beans, Prudent People and People Who Know Best advise us to always hold something back. Don’t laugh too loud, tell too many outrageous stories, or give ‘em all you got. Most of all, never wear your heart - at least, not your whole heart - on your sleeve.
If you hold back just a little of your awesomeness, you’ll always leave them wanting more. At least, so the thinking goes.
Ralph was having none of that. Right on page one of the Being Awesome manual that’s handed to each cat before birth, it says: Never be stingy with your amazing self. Don’t hesitate to show your true colors in all their dazzling, one-of-a-kind-wonderful glory. Love with all your might. Fly that freak flag into the stratosphere. The creatures who matter will only love you MORE for it, and the rest of ‘em - they can go the way of Crystal Pepsi.
In Ralph’s personal edition of the manual, there was also a hand-written note: Always leave ‘em wanting S’MORES.
Wouldn’t you know, Ralph followed the book to the letter.
Normally, when people come to Tabby’s Place to adopt one cat, they adopt one cat. We humans are funny creatures, so confident we know what we’re doing, wedded to our own plans. Sometimes it takes a really, really extraordinary cat to re-route us to utter fabulosity.
Mr. and Mrs. S’moRalphie planned on one cat…but their hearts were open enough that a certain tuxedo boy knew they were just right. They’d fit just perfectly into his plans.
And Ralph’s plans worked so well, that less than 24 hours after his homecoming, Mr. and Mrs. S’moRalphie were back for s’mo feline wonder. They were ready for S’mores.
So it is that our first Jersey Boys out the gate left us as a sweet tuxie pair, really really guaranteed a life of laughter and madcap antics and love. You can bet that these two aren’t holding anything back from the human beans who took a chance on two and got the glee of a lifetime.
PS: Behold Mr. and Mrs. S’moRalphie’s extra treat for you…pictures of the fellas in their forever home.
In case you’re wondering, of course they kept them in Jersey.

Oh — and they’ve already settled in so beautifully! If this wasn’t a match made in Heaven, I don’t know what is! And we should all take a lesson from the “cat instruction manual” - give it all you’ve got, all the time! Much happiness to the S’moRalphie family!
May they all have a long and love filled life together. I personelly think that the choice of 2 cats over one is a good one. Even though the cat has us, having a feline buddy really adds to their life, especially when the humans are not at home.
So happy to hear they’re already settled in and I agree, Carolina Cat Lover, 2 is better then one, especially when we’re not home. Much love and happiness to the S’moRalphie family!
We luff the happy stories.
Oh what a beautiful story! And they look SO happy together! Warms my heart on this steamy summer morning (and that is saying something
Double the happiness, love and fun!!
Look at the little black-and-white cat friends playing around already! Just like peas in a pod. I’m so glad Ralph and S’mores found a forever home together. Best of luck to these adorable kitties and their new family!
