There’s a strange thing about Tabby’s Place.
Actually, there are 100,000 strange things. One of them is the fact that vacation from Tabby’s Place is bittersweet. I’ll be out of town through Wednesday this week, and just the thought of it makes me ache a little a ton for Webster and the whole crew.
Fortunately, some of our finest Felis Catus family members will be blogging in my stead. Kicking things off is the luminous, the only, Karen, with an introduction to one very remarkable boy: Edward.
The landlord told the lady feeding me that I couldn’t stay in the yard anymore. I heard them talk about “getting rid of me.” I heard them say words like “pound” and “shelter,” and they said there was no place for a “cat like me.”
They said the shelters were full of “normal” cats with no problems…cats without funny labels like “FIV” and “CH,” cats that could walk, that didn’t drag their legs and wobble when they tried to eat.
I was so tired and hungry…and scared.
Then someone took my picture and sent out a message about me. The message got to a Nice Lady who loves cats like me — like ME!! This Nice Lady said she knew about a very special place, a place where it
doesn’t matter how old you are, or what you look like, or if you can’t walk just right. The lady said she was going to love me and take care of me until this special place had a spot just for me.
The lady put me in a nice cozy room with a soft, warm bed, soft music, and all the yummy food I could eat! Then she brushed me, and she hugged and kissed me (wow!).
Then she said I’d get to live at Tabby’s Place. I asked her what “Tabby’s Place” was — and the Nice Lady said, “oh little one, Tabby’s Place is heaven.” So I asked her what heaven is, and she said it’s the place where you go to be loved and cherished forever.
How did I get so lucky?
Karen - a.k.a. The Nice Lady - thank you for introducing us to this angel, and to loving him so mightily as the foster-mama of his dreams before his arrival here at Tabby’s Place.
And now, Edward eagerly awaits his very first sponsors.

If I didn’t already have my quota of sponsorees I’d snatch Edward up in a heartbeat, but since I have my sponsoree quota all filled at the moment he’s first on my waiting list!!!
Once again Jonathan, thank you for creating Tabby’s Place so that cats like Edward can have a place where they can be safe, loved, and live out their lives without fear and of course always have the possibility of a forever home.
I love Edward already and I love that his story makes me cry happy tears. THank you Karen - THe Nice Lady. The world needs more of you!!!!
I agree wholeheartedly with akatklein…..I’m in love with Edward already and am writing this with tears of joy in my eyes. God Bless you, Karen! Thank you for taking such good care of sweet Edward until he could have a spot at Tabby’s Place. It is definitely heaven on earth.
Edward has found his piece of heaven and we will be blessed with his presence until his forever family comes to get him

Thank you, all, for your responses and beautiful comments! Tabby’s Place gets all the credit here — without Tabby’s Place, where could a cat like Edward go?!
My goodness, what a cutie pie he is. I’m now officially part of the Edward Fan Club. Thank you for keeping him safe, Nice Lady!
Oh my goodness! Edward is ADORABLE!!!! You are one of the cats I’d love to adopt, Eddie!
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting little Edward. He’s even more adorable than you can imagine. He may have CH, but apparently no one told him! He will rush right over to you on his wobbly little legs to check you out, and after a minor crash or two along the way is happy to be rewarded with scratches and pets. He’s truly a marvelous kitty. Super thanks to Nice Lady for keeping him safe and passing him on to such a wonderful place as Tabby’s Place.
Actually, ol’ Edward is a bit of a Gene Kelly! We had a chaperoned adventure into the solarium a couple of weeks ago and he was quite rhythmic in his stepping. What a sweet boy he is and he loves to cuddle. Your lovin’ time is long overdue sweetie!
