As you can imagine, we can get all kinds of email regarding cats. Some are from people looking for help or advice. Many are kind notes from people, telling us how they appreciate what we do.
Just the other day, I received an incredibly touching email and I have to share it with you (with permission from the author, er, actually from his mother):
Dear Mr. Rosenberg,
My name is Sam and I am 8 years old. My mom and I just took a virtual tour around Tabby’s Place and I would LOVE to work there someday, the sooner the better! I have a cat named Ringo. He is very cute. He is a one year old. Me and him like to play with each other. He likes to hide on my chair, and then when I run by he jumps out at me and playfully claws my shirt. I keep running and my shirt escapes his claws without getting ripped. I feel that he’s the bestest cat in the world and I think you would love him a lot.
I wanted to send you 2 pictures of him.
I think it is really nice of you to open up a place for kitty cats and protect them.
This letter made my day
Sam: we need more young men like you. Please give Ringo a big kiss from me.

What an incredibly sweet little boy!!!
Sam, you are an amazing child and I hope you have many years of happiness with Ringo!
Oh, and maybe some new shirts just in case
Great youngster, great cat! It warms my soul whenever I meet/hear of a child who has learned to cherish animals and also knows what it means to give back. I hope Sam’s parents know what a gem they are raising!
Sam and Ringo rock!
You’re right, Jonathan. We do need more young men like him, open and unashamed cat lovers!!! Is it just me or does it seem to other people on this blog that the adoration of felines is often, not always but often, relegated to the female of the human species??? (no offense meant to either you, Jonathan or Fredhetz)
It’s great to see a young cat lover, Sam you will be an asset to the feline world in years to come.
