Dearest international members of the Tabby’s Place family: please accept my apologies, on behalf of the entire United States, for the fact that, by and large, we Just Don’t Get soccer/football/futbol.

I hope that Taco and Belle - aka Chandler and Monica - can make it up to you. Enjoy the latest update from their amazing mom, known on this blog as Mrs. TacoBelle.

We are writing to give you an update on Taco and Belle.

Rest assured, Taco and Belle are doing beautifully in their forever home. Fernando and I are delighted to have them and they entertain us daily with their antics.

One of their favorite items (beside their window perches, like the one that they used to have at Tabby’s Place) is a 3-tiered stand that Fernando has modified to give a sturdier base and a larger top tier.

We didn’t think they both could fit on the top tier, but they manage to squeeze themselves up there together for a better view of the back yard, where they can see the birds playing in the bushes.

As they are indoor cats, you can imagine how sitting near open (but screened) windows and doors with all of the sights and smells is their favorite past time. When we are home, their favorite game by far is Chase the Laser Light Beam.

Taco is still a fantastic, social and playful cat. He feels so comfortable, and he’ll flop himself just about anywhere, showing off his beautiful white belly and chest. As long as our guests approach him slowly, he’ll let them pet him. They all love him.

Belle is coming along slowly but surely. It was a great decision to keep these two together, as she loves her brother and they spend many hours running up and down the halls chasing and playing with each other. We honestly don’t know if she’d be doing better anywhere else, as she has the time, place and the humans to let her be herself.

She lets us pet her while she’s eating, and we’re trying to take additional steps by trying to pet her outside the feeding ‘zone’, which she does allow from time to time. She is out and about most of the time, and although she is shy, she is quite curious about the world around her and likes to investigate anything new that comes into our home.

Curiously enough, Belle enjoy sports on TV…please see the photo of her watching the World Cup. She’s rooting for Spain.

All in all, the “kids” are doing great, and we couldn’t be happier. They bring so much joy to our lives, and we can see they are happy, healthy and well adjusted. Somehow we feel it was fate we all have come together.
