Funny how timing can be so right.
And funny how “right” can be so hard when it comes to a beloved cat getting adopted.
Our London friend John Graham is back with a new missive from the moggies in jolly old England.
Today, we have the pleasure of meeting a cat in a class of her own: Bets.
Since he was black-and-white instead of gingery-brown, and since he was a boy, we couldn’t let the new cat keep the name Spice.
But, in all honesty, he never lived up to his slightly amended name, either: Spike.
Fortunately, even a series of ill-fitting names can’t keep a cat from the home that’s meant to be his.
Some goodbyes are particularly wrenching. Few rival the ache of losing our tiny tabby, Anastasia.
No one adored Ana more deeply and faithfully than Sharon (Jonathan’s wife, our Volunteer Coordinator). Sharon always cherished Ana and always advocated for her, and Ana’s entire countenance would brighten whenever Sharon entered the room. I know how painful this must have been to write, but I also know blessed Anastasia would be to hear Sharon’s loving words.

Funny thing about a really good dessert.
You can savor it every single day and never, ever get sick of it. I remember once reading about a spectacularly-old dude who had eaten one Twinkie every day since his 20s, and credited them for his long and peaceful life.
As much as his Twinkies may have enriched his days, they can’t hold a candle to the goodness goin’ on with a certain feline Twinkie and her sister Cupcake.
