Shortly after Tabby’s Place opened, I acquired my first officemate. Slide was an old one-eyed cat who did not do well with other felines. He thrived in my office and was adopted eventually.
Since then, I have not been without an officemate for more than a few days at a time. In fact, since Sinbad became my officemate two years ago, I have had two officemates. Sinbad was such a gentle soul, that he was fine having another cat share “his” office.

Such was the conversation between two of our newest residents: tiny Numi and elegant mama Chai.
To clarify, mama Chai is not Numi’s mama - a point which would become increasingly clear over the few hours they spent together.
In a recent post, Angela commented about Bitsy, contender for the world’s smallest cat. Angela voiced concern that Bitsy was being exploited for the benefit of her human owners.
Well turnabout is fair play. There is now a cat t0uting that he has the world’s smallest human.
So you make it out of a high-kill shelter in the company of a uniquely spectacular clique of cats. One by one, each of your buddies is adopted, and you keep waiting, wondering…can a lovable, marshmallow-y, lumpy older boy find love?
Oh, Rickie, you needn’t have worried. Your forever home was mean to be long before you even came to Tabby’s Place.

But now it’s been over five years, and you’ve seen the cast of characters in your suite change, again and again and again.
