The FIV suite at Tabby’s Place has been home to some of our most memorable and personable cats. These cherubs are often chunky, brown-tabby tomcats. Cecil completely fits this description. However, he will make you earn his affections. While his look-alikes Toby and Rufus are batting around a toy, Cecil is snuggled up in a nook, quietly hoping you’ll find him and scratch behind his ears. He will submit to your pats, purring, but he won’t ask for them. Cecil is just too polite.

Noble Cecil started off as Crusty, a lone tom roaming Hunterdon County. He was found malnourished, toothless, and injured, and the kind people who helped him knew he couldn’t return to the wild. After spending some time in foster care, “Crusty” made his way to Tabby’s Place. Here, we noted the handsome guy’s genteel manner, and bestowed him with a more refined moniker: Cecil. And with that new name, Cecil hopes to start his second life as a housecat (and he’d like to remain that way for the rest of his nine lives).

Can you give unconditional love to this timid tabby? Come and meet him during our public hours. Please see our Visit Us page for updated hours.
