Boots is brother to our Pause. Both boys are medium-sized, with big heads in relation to their body sizes. Boots has white whiskers, a white chest, white on all 4 paws, and white tufts inside his ears; the rest of his coat is black. Brother Pause looks nearly identical but has a convenient white smudge on his nose-tip that enables us to tell the two apart. Our best guess is that the boys were born in December of 2007.

Boots and Pause do well with other cats, but it's important to note that they do like to play rough. Best of all, they are fond of people. Sit near them, stretch out a hand, and speak quietly, and the likelihood is that they'll be all over you in about three minutes. They both love to sit in laps too!

Boots does have a couple of medical issues. His mouth was very painful when he first arrived here, and as it turns out, he has a condition called stomatitis. This is an auto-immune disorder in which the gums become allergic to the plaque growing on the cat's teeth. We are currently treating Boots' condition with antibiotics and steroids. Sadly, Boots has also been diagnosed with heart disease that has already begun to progress into heart failure. We've started Boots on a couple of new medications to help support the function of his heart and prevent fluid from building up in his chest. The rate at which heart disease progresses is quite variable and often dependent on how well a cat tolerates treatment. Our hope is that Boots will do well on his medications and that we will have this sweetheart around for many more months.

Yes, Boots does require a little extra care, but he makes up for it by being such a love. If you've been looking for a sweet boy please consider our Boots.
