As a kitten, Grady was accidentally put into a clothes dryer for a short time. As a result, it is possible that he may have a back injury. However, we have seen no sign of his being in pain, and he has no difficulty in moving, including running and jumping.
Because he can be shy, we recommend that Grady go to an environment with no small children. We believe that he'd be fine in a home with other cats, as long as there weren't too many and they weren't too domineering. What our brown tabby really requires is someone with a quieter home to give him a chance. Can you help?
Update: Grady has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer that affects the lungs. The cancer has been completely removed and Grady is beginning chemotherapy treatments. At present though Grady's spirits are high and he is happily adjusting to life in the lobby (where was moved after the diagnosis). We are hoping that showering him with lots of love (and wet food of course!) will prolong his life, but at the very least he will be spoiled rotten until his time comes.
