Ali is a striking-looking, all-white female with big yellow eyes. Our best guess is that she's around 11 years of age (as of 3/2010). She's extremely shy with us, but that is at least partly the result of previous circumstances. We know she lived in a private home with another cat to whom she was very much attached. We also know she lived with children but wasn't thrilled with them; for this reason, and because she is so shy, we strongly recommend she go to a home without small kids.

Ali was surrendered to a veterinary hospital because of inappropriate elimination (she was urinating outside her litter box). However, we have not seen that behavior here, leading us to believe that it may be at least partly circumstantial. Ali obviously does well with other cats, provided that they're not too domineering. In any case, Ali will need an adopter with a lot of patience, someone willing to work with her to bring her out of her shell. We have volunteers who are doing just that, and so far they've made great progress.

We're hoping that Ali will become calmer with the passage of some time.
