Mittens, our 500th rescue, is one special tabby boy! Upon his diagnosis of diabetes his owners put Mittens outside, refusing to give him the special care that he so desperately needed. As if Mittens' situation couldn't get anymore desperate, he was attacked by another animal, who left large lacerations over his entire body. With his diabetes unregulated and his fresh bite wounds growing infected Mittens returned to his home. It was then that his owners decided to have Mittens euthanized, but by some miracle Mittens found his way to Tabby's Place instead.

Mittens is a stunning boy with classic black and brown tabby markings, white mittens on each of his feet, a white chin, and white whiskers.

Since arriving at Tabby's Place, Mittens has also been diagnosed with heart disease and inflammatory bowel disease, for which he must eat a special diet. But, that doesn't stop Mittens from trying to steal an unsuspecting person's lunch--his favorites are pizza and tuna!

Despite all he's been through, Mittens loves people and is always happy to make himself comfortable on any willing (or unwilling) person's lap. He seems eternally grateful to have a home here at Tabby's Place, and so are we to have this magnificent boy as part of the family.
