Fiona was adopted from Tabby's Place years ago. Unhappily, her adopter became seriously ill, so she was returned to us. Fiona is a pretty tortoiseshell, with a larger patch of buff fur on her chest and a distinctive buff stripe down her forehead; the rest of her coat is the usual tortie mottling of orange/buff/black/brown. Our best guess is that she was born early in 2001. At some point before she came to us, Fiona was declawed in front.

When she came back to us, Fiona was found to have severe stomatitis, meaning she's allergic to the plaque on her teeth and gums. After a number of consultations, we had to remove all of her teeth. She was very skinny when she was returned, because her mouth was so irritated that eating was likely quite painful. She has put on significant weight since her return and is eating like a champion now, though she's still on the thin side. Because her mouth was irritated for so long, it will take a while to get under control; she may require anti-inflammatory therapy (most likely, a course of steroids), but right now it's too soon to say.

Fiona can be very affectionate with people, but she has a good deal of typical tortie "cattitude"; when she's done, she's done. She's not aggressive, however, and would likely just walk away from you. One important note: Fiona does not like other felines. We believe she'd do best as an only cat, but may tolerate one or two other cats in the house. She's on the smaller side, which is somewhat unusual for Tabby's Place cats!

If you're looking for just one feline and willing to consider an older cat, do consider our alluring tortie.
